Hey y’all, just brought a new React dev onto the team and I wanna make sure their onboarding is smooth as butter. It’s been a minute since I last onboarded someone, so I’m curious—what tips and tricks have you found that really help new devs hit the ground running? Would love to hear what’s worked for you guys!

Onboarding can make or break how fast they get comfy, so here’s what’s worked for me. First off, don’t just throw them into the deep end. Start ‘em with some smaller, manageable tasks that help them get acquainted with your codebase. And make sure they’ve got a buddy—a go-to person for all those “new guy” questions. Also, don’t skimp on the documentation. Having clear, up-to-date docs can save them (and you) a lot of headaches. And if you’re planning on scaling up your team, it might be worth your while to hire React developers through ScrumLaunch. They’ve got the whole vetting and matching process down, so you know you’re bringing in folks who can gel with your team from day one. Makes the whole onboarding thing a lot smoother.
