Its all demos!

Its all demos!

Hi guys,

So I'm really enjoying all the demos and my dive a lot but I'm wondering if anyone knows if there are any proper games on their way or if we have any major game creators supporting dive yet? The closest we have at the moment is the height and space arena (both of which are very good) but something like shadow run and need for speed would be awesome on the dive.
I signed a petition a while back to get shadow run dive compatible, not sure how that's progressing.
I don't know the first thing about making games or unity but I am having a go myself at creating a fps, I'm not far away from having a playable demo ready using assets from the store and scripts I have found / learnt online (thanks Google).
I am looking at games created on unity for android now with thought of contacting them to ask if they will add an option in their next updates to switch to dive mode ( am I right in thinking this would just be a case of switching the in game camera?) Or would the game need to be compiled twice?
Anyway the point is, this is such an awesome piece of kit but is really let down by the available games.
I am mad for tech (he he) and had never heard of dive until recently even though it's been around for ages, are durovis actively pushing this product and trying to get support from the likes of gameloft and madfinger?
Ok rant over, any info would be appreciated......
Thanks.

I think with the announcement of Samsung building out their own HMD (Plus VRase, GameFaceLabs and others) there will be TONS of full-game content being built out soon by big budget mobile game devs.

I will ad my own personal opinion that i'm just as happy playing the demos. The sense of Presence in another area is what excites me most about VR so i'm just as happy exploring an environment and feeling as if i'm there. Although, This might be just me. I use to play Myst and the 11th hour simply because of the awesome immersion factor. I even played Grand Theft Auto without completing any of the missions, i would just run around the city and down on the beach.

I'm still learning Unity as well and working to add some more game mechanics into my demos , good to hear your doing the same ..maybe we can share tips and tricks :)

Hi Parzival,

It's definately the sense of being somewhere else that excites me too, I guess I have always been a little impatient, wanting things before their time. I'm lucky we have an active community developing the demos etc otherwise there would be virtually nothing.

I'll be posting my demo very soon and look forward to your opinion. I'd be very happy to share tips with you although I suspect you will be giving me way more that I can give you lol, never even seen a script until last week! :o

Maybe some folks on here should collaborate. I've been trying to teach myself how to code and use Unity to make a game. I've been trying to make a side-scroller that you play in VR, but I really have no idea what I'm doing. I was pretty stoked to see that Lucky's Tale for the Oculus is doing something similar. I like the idea of not always being in first person in VR. Sorry, that's a bit off topic.

Thanks. I'm sure I will need help. But I literally just started learning this stuff a month or so ago. Before that, I knew how to use a computer for word processing and surfing the internet. I would basically need you to make it for me at this point. :P

I am glad that you're enjoying your demos, and if you share more information about your demos soon, I'd appreciate it. I am writing my oxbridge essays, and any information I can find online will help me with my essays.
