A solid 60 frames, dude that is great! Thing is I'm in doubt, spend my money on a lcd screen can't find a 1080p screen.
Or get a gtx660 for around 100 Euro..
I tried it all to get it working with the geforce gpu but now go. Movies I can play in 1080p with ease. But it is much better then slpashtop and I can still play in fullscreen.
But after your comment I think I'll go for the gtx660. On the otherhand what if there is a controller out there with hdmi input that works with the G3 2K screen
But great times for VR!
And about the guys from twomon I think they are as excited about the idea as we are, so who knows what thay will come up with..nente002

I've been lurking on r/oculus for quite some time now and the folks back there are currently having issues with amd gpu. Had i've researched further, i could've gone with the green team too but i'm able to play non-VR games with my gpu (290x) on ultra settings so i got that going for me which is nice lol.
gtx 660 is a good card but 800 series is just around the corner so you might be better off waiting for a price drop on 760 or even 770 but that's just me.
I too searched for 5-7" 1080p lcds with lvds to hdmi controller board until i've stumbled upon on mtbs3d forum (home of vr gods) and found out that this rozsnyo dude was able to make a board for a 5.9" 1080p lcd. He put it up on indiegogo and was campaigned as DK1 lcd upgrade. Dunno if it works for DIY VR googles. You can check his work at http://riftup.rozsnyo.com/
After finding out how smooth the twomon usb app can stream games from pc, the HMD i've made might start to collect dust. Still love that bad boy though. Just look how sexy it is! (i might be biased )

And now i'm thinking of swapping my htc m8 to lg g3 just so i can experience playing VR games on a glorious 1440p screen!"diresquirrel" wrote:
Though now people are going to be making games for DK2, which is a totally different thing. I wonder if it will be easier or harder to spoof than DK1?
I hope its only a matter of changing the resolution parameter in the rift's EDID.kreikins

Well, I think DK2 uses an entirely different tracking system. LEDs and a camera vs. the gyroscope. But until someone figures that out I'm content to fiddle with my setup. :Bdiresquirrel

looks real sexy your DIY rift! I think waiting never hurts.. And who knows, if the guys at twomon are able to spoof the oculus ID my laptop might decide to run on the Geforce instead of the Intel HD 4600. But still 20 frames is enough for me to get a feel for the VR stuff!
I started this to get a sneak peak at the VR world. But I'm getting sucked into this and I want more!

The G3 will be great I think, so if you have a chance to get one I would go for it.
A totally different thing, is it just me or does it feel like the cardboard app suffers from less drift then the Unity ones?
Does the cardboard app make use of the compass or camera?nente002

Hi
I just go my card.
I followed:
1. Install and run the ST-Link Utility
2. Connect the mini usb to USB ST-LINK hub
3. Click on the AC plug icon (a.k.a connect to the target icon)
4. Click on Full Chip Erase icon (to wipe any previously flashed code. less likely since the board is new but just to be sure)
5. Click on Program Verify icon
6. Choose foculus file (stm32f3_HID_for_real.hex) and flash away! then I got the error... See screenshot.
7. Click on Disconnect on Target icon
8. Unplug usb from ST-LINK and connect it to USB USER hub
It says like "it was found a false argument."
Any advice?
Thank younils16

I din't have the error, but the board din't work the first time. So I did a full erase and flashed again.
Then in worked. Did you try to flash again?nente002

Could you plug the usb to USB-ST LINK HUB again but do not click on the AC plug icon and proceed to upgrading the firmware instead? You can do that on ST-LINK--->Firmware Update--->Device connect---->Click Yes
And repeat the instructions again.kreikins

I've got this board also, seems like only dk1 unity demos will work, haven't gotten new unity stuff working (0.4sdk).
Unread engine demos dont work as they dont go into SBS mode, nor will tracking work.
But who knows, maybe the original creator of the foculus firmware can/will update it to support dk2.izzo

Got the board flashed and detected as DK Tracker, and am using twomonusb but it disconnects after a few mins or when i try and swap screens over. Is there any way to mirror the display rather than to extend it?
