Drift???

Hi guys,
Just starting to play with this stuff, have ordered a durovis dive but haven't received it yet...(waiting...impatiently)
But I couldn't wait and have started playing around with the software even if I don't have the hardware yet.
I've noticed that the display keeps drifting from right to left, it's very slow but over time obviously this causes a problem. I've tried with the samsung beam and also the lg optimus 3d, both have this problem.
Have you guys experienced anything like this? Any suggestion for a solution, I could be wrong but I would imagine this is related to the compass?

Hi,
I have the same problem with a GS III
it drifts very slowly towards the left. I have to stand everytime I play because:
- i start each game facing a "random" direction. Which is a problem if you're in a cockpit
- I have to slowly turn to compensate over time
i've tried to compensate in the game itself but didn't come up with something that work.
i don't know if it's a problem with my phone. I droped it so many times the gyro might have some problemsSalmo

I have the same problem with my Umi x2,but it drifts slowly to the right. It acts the same on every app apart from one, namely rollercoaster by Daniela.iphodroid. There is no drift in that app since the latest release, which makes me hope it could be solved for apps too.
Do you guys have drift in the latest version of rollercoaster?rosts

Thx for the hint. There is no drift in the latest rollercoaster version. Must depend on the Software.

There is more or less drift in some phones , if you want to play while sitting, use a rotating chair.
At least with this generation of the plugin we are not acitvely countering drift.Stefan

I've done some reading on this, granted my understanding of the sensors etc is very limited so this may be wrong.
Apparently all gyroscopes in phones suffer from drift (the degree of this varies from chip to chip).
Apps that use gyroscopes and do not appear to have drift (compass mode streetview I'm looking at you...) actually make use of the accelerometer and magnetic sensor to compensate for the drift.
So this sounds like it would need to be implemented in the unity plugin, please try with this guys, I appreciate its a fair bit of work but it will make these devices so much better, and stop people throwing up after using them for 20 mins...
Speaking of streetview, this is off topic for here but how easy to you guys think it would be to put together a sbs streetview feed? That would kick ass...

If you type in "durovis" in the Google Play app store there's a side-by-side google streetview app right now. It looks super primitive and I can't vouch for it's efficacy, but it's there.
I've got a similar problem, I have a constant, steady drift to the right. It occurs in every Dive-compatible app. It's super noticeable and I'm worried that it'll wreck my Dive experience (which I'm getting for Christmas), so I'd like to get the problem fixed. I've got an HTC One. Any thoughts/tips/advice?
*edit* It appears Stefan is aware of the problem, on Google+ he said: "We will provide the functionality to calibrate your sensor for use with apps using Dive Tracking." I wonder what form that'll take?underattack86
