Hello rosts. Thank you for your feedback.
I think my biggest problem now is my lack of motiviation to make further improvements to the app. I actually just wanted to program this app for me, but since I figured that other people may have the same use case and maybe can program themselves, I thought that sharing would not hurt. Now the app is at a point, where it works fine for me and has no major flaws, so other people can use it as well (it is full with minor bugs though, that I know about, but am too lazy to fix - but don't tell anyone ). So in my eyes further developed takes a lot of my free time, brings diminishing returns and does not make me any cash. Currently the app has been downloaded 4 times. If user numbers are rising, this would might change my motivation positivly.
Regarding questions/feedback:
- controller support: My Nexus 4 doesn't support USB On-The-Go, so I can't easily plugin a controller. Since I do not have any controller laying around that is compatible with my phone, I'd rather not develop this feature. The situation might change in the future
- network streaming: I guess this should be not too hard to implement... maybe this feature will come, but don't get your hopes up
- 3D: My problem with 3D is the lack of media and just the fact, that I'm not a fan of 3D movies. I watched Avatar in the cinema and did not enjoy the effects. And my guess would be, that there are already 3D Players with Side-By-Side feature (maybe I'm wrong)
- open source: In theory I'm open to this solution. However I would first have to refactor my code, since it got really "busy" recently. It's the result of a lot of trial and error. And again: My motivation would be much higher if I knew that there are people really interested in improving it and that there are not only 10 users whichof no one can develop. But then again: The app isn't really sophisticated... if I would refactor my code, I think there wouldn't be more than 500 lines of code. The app consists of (developer talk a single MediaPlayer instance, a MediaController instance and an OpenGL Surface on which the video is drawn side by side.
My priorties at the moment would be (somewhat sorted):
- bug fixing and polishing the app
- network streaming
- refactoring and open sourcing the app
- controller
- 3D
So let's see what the future brings. If someone is really interested in improving the app and can show me that there is some dev experience, feel free to contact me about the source code.
Thank you all for your feedback and support so far!Paul

Sorry for the double post again (some discussion boards think it's ok - some not... but my last post has been half a day, so I don't want anyone to missout on updates):
There is a new playstore version. The only change is/should be, that network streaming via ES Fileexplorer should work now!
Some people however report that the playstore version does not work for them (opposed to the sideloaded v0.2). Anything on that?Paul

Thanks for your elaborate post!
The streaming worked really well. Other than controller support and 3D it's pretty much perfect.
Personally I was thinking of using a bluetooth controller, such as PS3, which makes a dongle superfluous. But I understand if it's too much of a hassle to do it, especially since there's a plethora of devices available.
And since it is possible to jump in the movies already, I'd probably be more interested in 3D, but it's also not very important.
Anyway, I bow my head, I've watched a couple movies in it which has been my best experience in the Dive so far! Any improvement is just a bonus from here on.rosts

Hello again
I can see that more and more people come to use this app. The user numbers are constantly growing and reached already ~500 installations. Therefore I thought about what to do with the app. I definitely want to keep the app free, however I would greatly appreciate, if I could make a buck or two with.
Therefore: If you are finding yourself using and enjoying the SBS Video Player, please show some support by sending me some digital $$$!

Doesn't work on Galaxy S7 Can't give a honest review on something that won't work. Requires you to have a file explorer (this app recommends es file explorer). I get a blank screen, then notification stating sbs video has stopped. Tried restarting the phone and still nothing. Tried a few different video files from phone and memory card couldn't get it to work. Watch all latest Movies and TV shows for free on Solid Streamz app. Get it from this web site.
