Ahoy mates! Swivel Gun : VR Log Ride Edition (beta) is now live on the Google Play Store!

https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... Ride&hl=en

This app was designed for Google Cardboard but also is compatible with most other VR kits as well. Please give it a try and let me know what you think.

If there is enough want for more posted in the comments, we will be creating a full-scoped, multi-level, multi-platform VR log ride game in the near future.

This looks amazing! Can't wait to try it out!

I do have one criticism after reading the description on google play; I've found that tilting my head sideways is one of the biggest parts of the immersive experience for me, so making that the way you exit to the main menu is a bit tricky for me. Could you set an option that allows you to modify that setting to use something else? Personally, I would like to see it set so that you have to flip the viewer completely upside down to exit to the main menu since I am unlikely to ever do that naturally, and can easily do so without taking the phone out of the holder/viewer.

Okay, just tried it out and here's what I have to say:

First of all, AMAZING game. Super simple and easy to learn, great graphics, amazing FPS with low CPU burden, just an all around impressive piece of work. This is definitely going on the top of my list of apps to show people seeing VR for the first time.

Now, on to the constructive criticism:

- I would like to see a cross-hair of some kind during gameplay. I think it would help with my general aim without making the game immediately easier.

- The proportions seem just a hair off, it makes me feel like I'm 20-30% larger than I should be. Could you somehow adjust the player model to be smaller, thereby making everything seem a tiny bit further?

- I love the level design, extremely creative, but I felt like there were a couple points where the fast-paced moments were just a little too close. I don't think the current level needs to change, but maybe every other level could incorporate levels with longer slow-paced stretches with something else making it strategically difficult (moving platforms, obstacles between you and the barrels from certain points, etc.)

- Not sure if this is something you can fix, but I get 80-90% accurate response from the magnet. I love that this game uses it so well, but maybe you could look into some way to fine-tune the response a bit.

I also forgot to mention:

- Could you set up an option for adjustable barrel distortion? The score is just barely out of view at the bottom left for me, and I would like to see everything on-screen without looking into the viewer at an angle.

It doesn't work on my S3. Won't even load. Just sends me back to my home screen.

Works great on my nexus 5. This was a lot of fun! The speed on some of the water sections was a little jarring, but I didn't care too much as I was having fun viewing the creative ride you made. The skull and ship sections were really great! I played it a second time with my controller and had a blast! I would 100% pay for a full version with more rides! I saw there was a similar app you made that you had to pay for. Is that vr as well? If so I'll definitely be buying it.... Please make some more levels!! :)

3Andron3icus3 - Thank you very much for your feedback! As I start into the next build i will certainly keep your crits in mind. Again, thanks for your time here!!

dboxvr - I'm sorry your having issues with the S3. In fact this is not the first time I've seen this with the S3. Funny think is the game runs fine on the S3 mini. I'll keep looking it into it. Sorry mate.

bbennett22 - Thanks for your feedback! Glad you had a good time! If you don't mind, which controller did you end up using? The other Swivel Gun app is actually one a I did a while back that is based in Augmented Reality using your device's camera to superimpose the game right into your environment. There is a free version of you'd like to give it a shot.

Thanks again for your time mates!

I used my ps3 controller with the sixaxis app. I set it up so hitting a button on the controller simulated touching the screen... Pretty easy setup

This game is amazing! I've left a good review on the Play store, the more people have a go at this, the better!

I would say it's not just a fun and technically brilliant game, but actually carries some sense of Disney World childhood nostalgia for me! :D

I really like your menu, with the wheel and stare-to-load buttons. Is there any chance you can help me do something similar, if I PM you?
