Sewage Suction Trucks

Whether you have a sewer or septic tank, vacuum trucks can help you keep it clean. They also help keep sewers flowing properly and prevent clogs from forming.

These vehicles are also useful in rescue missions such as when trenches or pits collapse on workers. They also clean up hazardous materials and oil spills, preventing them from contaminating the environment or entering local waterways.
VB Series

The VB Series Sewage Suction Truck is an efficient solution for removing sewage and other waste from a range of locations. It is equipped with a positive displacement vacuum pump, blower, and cylindrical debris tank. It is also designed with various optional features, allowing for versatility to meet the requirements of different operations.

The vehicle is made of round steel and has good pressure bearing performance, enabling it to be used in different types of ditches, sewage systems, and rain wells. It can also carry feces, sludge, and waste water from a sewage pool.

It uses a water-cooled vacuum pump and an independent patented opening and closing locking device. The tailgate has a rubber strip, ensuring the seal between the sewage tank and the door. This allows for easy observation and cleaning of the liquid level.

These trucks are available in a variety of sizes and configurations, with options for a rotating arm (optional for 7-ton models), hydraulic boom for hydro excavating and deep sewer work, and multiple sumps and sludge capacities. They come with Duraprolene water tanks, and are powered by a single engine Hydro Drive powertrain, eliminating the need for a transfer case.

A sewage suction truck is a specialized type of sludge removal equipment that can collect thick sewages or feces from septic tanks. It is also used in commercial applications to clean up hazardous waste sites.

Whether you’re looking to buy, rent or service a sewage suction truck, Great Lakes Equipment Sales has the best selection and best local support in the industry. Our dedicated staff will help you select the right unit for your needs and answer any questions you have.

A sewer vacuum truck can lift sludge, septage, and grease waste from pumping sources to the waste level in a tank or trap without air conveyance, lifting it about 20-25 feet. It can also pick up and transport sand, gravel, bottles, cans, rags, and other items from sewer lines.
Clean Cuum

Vacuum trucks have long been the backbone of wastewater infrastructure, allowing maintenance professionals to quickly and efficiently remove waste and debris that clogs sewer pipes. It's also the tool they use to perform routine maintenance on septic tanks and sewer systems to prevent the waste from overflowing into the public water supply.

To effectively clean a sewer, a nozzle and hose are propelled through the pipe using high water pressure. The nozzle, which can be anywhere from 10-12 pounds in weight, controls the rotation of the hose and allows the vacuuming process to work more efficiently.

In the event that the nozzle is displaced, it can cause damage to the pipe, which could lead to costly repairs. This is why it's important to purchase a nozzle that's durable and easy to remove.

Another important factor when selecting a nozzle is its efficiency. A more effective nozzle will help operators get better performance from their trucks while minimizing their water use. This will not only save money on tank refills but can also keep crews on task and reduce downtime due to a lack of water.

The higher the nozzle's efficiency, the less water it will need to clean each square foot of pipe. This can save up to 50 percent in water usage over time, according to Woods.

Moreover, higher-efficiency nozzles have tight water patterns that more closely align the incoming stream to the sewer line. This results in a stronger water stream that propels the nozzle and moves more debris long distances.

Choosing the right accessories will maximize your cleaning while reducing water use, labor, and headaches. Polston offers a variety of accessories that can increase your performance on the job and take your vacuum truck to the next level. They include the aforementioned nozzles and hoses, as well as camera and nozzle-cameras that let you inspect sewer lines with ease.
Polston

Polston Applied Technologies’ PAT 949 combination truck uses vacuum, jetter and a down-hole pump to remove sand and grit from wastewater treatment plants, large diameter lines, digesters and lift stations without shutting down the plant service. Designed for a wide variety of applications, this multi-purpose cleaner has an 8-inch downhole hydraulic pump and a unique jetter that pushes sand, grit, biosolids, debris and other waste material into a pressurized system that separates it from the water.

The nozzle is attached to a self-retracting hydraulic hose reel, which holds 500 feet of hose and can be easily stowed in the truck during the cleaning process. A tiger tail (see Photo 3) is attached to the hose with a split ring that keeps the tiger tail from sliding off.

This innovative tiger tail / hose assembly is designed to allow the employee to look down into the sewer opening and direct the hose to the desired location on the line. This helps prevent wear and damage to the hose and allows for easier operation by eliminating the need for the employee to lift the nozzle up and over a manhole.

Another cool feature is the hydraulic knuckle boom crane, which rotates 180 degrees and allows the employee to clean in places that are otherwise inaccessible by hand. The truck also comes with a high-vacuum blower that extracts gravel, rock and other hard debris.

This powerful sand and grit removal technology is the result of several years of research, testing and development. Developed for a variety of application situations, the PAT 949 and the Polston Process have been helping clients restore water quality and systems efficiency in many locations.
AOTC

The AOTC Sewage Suction Truck is a cleaning vehicle that collects and transports liquid waste, such as dirty water, sludge and oil. It can also collect solid stuff like sand, bricks and stones. The sewage suction truck is mainly used for sanitary and environmental sanitation, such as gully emptier and cesspit emptier.

This combination jetter vacuum truck is used to clean sewers, culverts, storm sewers and lift stations in city and industrial applications. It features a single engine drive, rear-mounted hose reel, full power and a 360-degree rotating boom.

Polston’s sewage suction trucks are ideal for city sewers because they can remove even caked-on mud from buried pipes and other obstacles that may be difficult to access by traditional tools such as tractor backhoes, tracked or wheeled excavators or ditch witches. They can also be used for street flushing, chemical and water-spraying services.

To clean city sewage, these trucks use a high-powered water jet to break through even caked-on mud, and then a specialized suction pump to suck it up. This method reduces the amount of time it takes to clean and allows a higher level of efficiency when compared with using a spud truck or a conventional rotary vacuum cleaner.

The vacuum pump can be mounted on the truck itself or on the trailer with an independent motor, depending on your needs. Generally, the truck-mounted vacuum pump is preferred because it is less complicated and can be adapted to different types of septic tanks.

Vacuum suction trucks can be designed to include an anti-overflow device that will prevent feces and sewage from being filled up to the vacuum pump system in case of a sewage overflow. This will save you money by avoiding costly repairs.

A key reason why the City of Topeka staff wants to purchase a sole source of Vactor sewage suction trucks is that these vehicles traditionally have much higher trade-in/resale value than competitive equipment, and they deliver superior performance for their price. They can be used to clean interceptors, which can help the City cut Combined Sewer Overflow (CSO) volume by up to 25%.
